Reverse Auction

Using several open source software projects it was possible to generate a complex yet user friendly reverse auction web-based application. Containing over 135 related tables, this intricate project provides a complete content managed reverse auction site.

Reverse auctions work in a fundamentally different way compared to normal auction sites. Unlike sites such as E-Bay, this site provided a means for holiday users to submit a ‘request' for a holiday quote. Each tour operator would then access the system and submit hidden quotes to the site user. The user then has the option of selecting the cheapest or most relevant holiday from their control panel.
